Worn Break Pads

Well here is something that we do not often think about, BREAKS!  We ride and ride and it most of the time a passing thought.  They become damaged and shabby as a result of much use, especially the front.  You may just come in for an oil change but we often check for the things that get overlooked.

DOT 4 brake fluid absorbs moisture from the atmosphere over time, changing the chemical and physical properties of the fluid. These changes can affect braking negatively. Ensure proper braking performance by checking brake fluid for moisture content. This can typically be seen in the reservoir as a dark coloration or tint to the fluid. Change your brake fluid when this appears or at least every 2 years. A new set of pads with a more aggressive compound and a set of stainless braided lines are a positive step toward better braking. Give us a call and we’d be glad to help.
